C17 is a joint catalog that gathers the Health Science journal holdings of 538 Libraries in Spain. The first edition was produced in 1996 on CD-ROM. Currently, it conforms a centralized catalog which is queried via Internet.
We can query C17 catalog free online through http://isciii.c17.net.
There are other advanced query functions which require payment: C17 Plus and ILL17

Each library can update their data online. Universities and other centers with a large number of holdings, must update their catalog at least once a year, through ISO standard files.
- To belong to C17 catalog, each library must guarantee interlibrary loan of the holdings they have included.
-
The library must provide the necessary infrastructure of personnel and equipment to perform this service within the following deadlines:
- Rejection answer: Two working days
- Requested article delivery: Four working days
- Enable a request reception system compatible through email or any other methods that have been developed by CSi.
- The library must update their administrative data whenever changes occur and update holdings at least once a year.
Libraries wishing to be included in C17 Catalog, that meet the above requirements, should apply for membership through the representative for their Community, or directly to CSi, who will forward this request to the Community Representative.
Beyond the above requirements, any new library must have at least 20 Health Science Journal holdings, or have other Health Science serials not included by other libraries in the same Community.
The Instituto de Salud Carlos III finances a free query to C17 Catalog which at the moment enables to be included completely free of charge.
The main service is to be part of the most consulted and prestigious Health Science Catalog in Spain, making the interlibrary loan so much easier between the libraries included in C17.

The library will also be able to download their own holdings list to edit their own catalog.
